“I've Been Tagged!!!”
Ha! I have been tagged!!!
I'd like to thank Karen Schmidt from Louisiana Edgewood Art for tagging me (I am embarrassed to mention how long ago). What fun! You can read the rules on her Blog's post; "I've Been Tagged".
First I am to give seven facts about me (I assume unique things not already found in my profile). Well here it goes!
1. The comma key on my keyboard is broken.
2. We have one beagle named Mabel. What a hoUUUUUnd!
3. I don't grow weeds I grow wildflowers.
4. My eye glasses come from the DollarTree.
5. Still waiting for the other shoe to drop.
6. Run around the court chasing tennis balls several times a week.
7. I try hard to never squat with my spurs on. Trust me...
Now I am supposed to come up with 7 people to tag but I was invited to do this by a blogging friend that has a lot of the same cyber-friends as I... she's tagged them first!!
1. Mary Sheehan Winn. Her fun use of color and artistic style really shine in each of her pieces. I love spending my mornings (when not so crazy) viewing her recent work.
2. Debbie Miller. She has a fun way of capturing real life in her work.
3. Rebecca Finch A wonderful still life artist and a fellow WetCanvas member!
4. Linda Blondheim Holy cow what wonderful landscapes. Her blog has great suggestions and demos that are so incredibly helpful. OH! And Linda’s also a WetCanvas member.

“Two Sheep for Bo Peep”
TWO SHEEP FOR BO PEEP
Oil on Canvas

Last week schools were closed three days because of the Nor'Easter's floods. This week is school vacation. I am lucky to have done this tiny little thing!

“Orrington, ME”
ORRINGTON, ME
Oil on Canvas
10x8 Inches
My husband and family are from Maine. What a wonderful place for a newbie landscape painter to paint. I am eager to take another road trip to see my inlaws; they will love the time with their grandchildren and I will enjoy capturing all the sites for future paintings!
(Click here to see the wc reference photo.)

“Hanging in a Gallery!”
MY OIL PAINTINGS HANGING IN THE GALLERY
My paintings were juried and accepted to hang in a gallery in the next town over! Received the phone call yesterday and went this morning to hang my pieces. They didn't seem to be so crooked in real life. I should go and straighten them!!!!
It snowed a lot last night (April 4th). Lots of limbs were down and much of my town woke without power. Needless to say the schools were closed! Couldn't believe the wonderful winter wonderland that awaited me when I got to Milford!!! Here’s a picture of the Milford Oval, where the shop is located. That's Spring in New England!

“Land Lubber”
LAND LOVER
Oil on Canvas
10x8 Inches
“Land Lubber” is an old sailor’s expression for someone who would rather be on land. That reminds me of the lemon shown sitting on the counter!
My mom had this bowl for years and recently passed it on to me. I love filling it lemons and keeping the bowl on the counter.

“After The Nor’Easter”
AFTER THE NO’EASTER
Oil on Canvas
8x10 Inches
Painted this on St Patrick’s Day as we enjoyed the after effects of a storm that hit the day and night before. Although it dumped a bunch of snow the end result wasn’t as bad as we feared because it didn’t turn to rain as expected so shoveling wasn’t nearly as difficult!
In honor of St Patrick’s Day I placed the lemon on a green towel and the background is a deep rich green.
Boy it was nice to be painting again. Hope the next few weeks aren't as busy as these last couple so that I can paint some more! Thank you for your patience!

“Popped!”
POPPED!
Oil on Canvas
10x8 Inches
Yesterday, Saturday, was a quiet day. My younger daughter was at a birthday party, my older daughter was busy on her computer and hubby was doing his fun thing. So I thought I'd paint! Having never seen anyone’s version of a popped kernel of corn I thought I'd try it!

“Before Dawn”
BEFORE DAWN
Green Pepper Series #3
Oil on Canvas
10X8 Inches
I guess I really like painting peppers; especially the green ones! Set up the still life yesterday and had no idea when I would be able to paint it... It turned out to be sooner than I thought. Mabel our beagle had an upset stomach all night long and getting some sleep was out of the question for either of us! So in between the trips to let Mabes outside to do her “thing” I painted the peppers.

“Warped Stick” ACEO (In a Day)
WARPED STICK
Oil on Canvas
2.5X3.5 Inches
Sometimes a lollipop’s stick is bent a little bit. In this case, it was very helpful to balance the pop in just the right way to be compositionally interesting!
Just created this miniature painting today (February 24th)! This is my FIRST Art Card painted in oils and it is my fifth ACEO created, to date. (Numbered dated and signed on the back.)
